Mark, I wanted to ask you (and Chad) about looking to get my own DR60's, or another device that has similar performance. From reading around, people have pointed to the Panasonic US360 and a good model. One example is from this site: http://www.hpiparanormal.net/evpthread.aspVoice 2000s DA300 - 0 EVPSony B300 - 3 EVPPanasonic US360 - 14 EVP (better clarity)Panasonic DR60 - 23 EVP (worse clarity)They don't like the DR60 as much as other models because it is not as clear. But they also point out it out performs all other devices...

Anyway, please send along your suggestions!

Hi Mike,Hope you are well. The RR-DR60 is excellent in terms of quantity of results. In comparison toother recorders, the quality is not so good. You do develop an ear forlistening to the unique audio captured on the RR-DR60 over time but resultscan still be quite distorted and difficult to fathom, although I stress notalways! The results are rather unique and the way that the recorders work isunique in terms of being dedicated voice activated devices. There are noother recorders that come close to it.I have never used a Panasonic US360 but the Sony B300 has come good on manyoccasions. The Sony needs to be used on 'high microphone sensitivity' modeand be set to the lowest possible recording quality for best results. Iwould be interested to find out if the team who made the study utilised therecorder with these settings. The Sony B300 is my second choice behind theRR-DR60.In terms of cost, this is an easy one. The RR-DR60 recorders sell forridiculous money these days. The most expensive I have ever witnessed onebay was $1400, but you may get lucky if you keep searching. Expect to pay$400 - $600. The Sony B300 recorders cost around $25 from ebay, so not muchof a comparison there! I guess it all boils down to how much you want to
spend. If it was me, I would buy them all ;)I am sure Chad will have his own preferences when it comes to alternativesto the RR-DR60.Hope this helps.Kind regards,MarkGhost Finders ScotlandParanormal Investigations & Research

"I am sure Chad will have his own preferences when it comes to alternatives to the RR-DR60." -I have no experience either with the Panasonic US360, but some with the Sony B300 and would agree with Mark. There are no alternatives for the results a RR-DR60 gets. After the B300, I would go analog. Probably reel to reel to start but that is another can of worms for another time.Great question Mike!Chad
